Rick's Picks

Post by Rick Christian on June 8th 2010, 12:27 pm

#1 - Brenton Cyrus
Brenton defended the World Heavyweight Championship against Jason Hawk at Trial By Combat. Now they stand at 1-1. Who will win the tiebreaker?

p #2 - Jason Hawk
He did exceptionally well in his match against Brenton Cyrus, depite losing the match itself. He did well enough to stay at number three, but due to Nick's performance, Jason finds himself boosted up to two. Call him a victim of circumstance.

q #3 - Nick Ridicule
The NLWF...well, rather, Former NLWF Champion lost the belt to Matt Gray in his hometown, in the match he dominated. What will this loss do to his psyche as we move towards Simple Survival?

p #4 - Chuck Matthews
With the odds stacked against him, Chuck Matthews prevailed. Add another world title reign to his resume, add a Devastation victory, add a Live or Die match to his highlight reel...but subtract one girlfriend.

p #5 - Matt Gray
Can you feel it brother? Miami sure as hell did. And so did Nick Ridicule, who now must watch as the unpinned, unsubmit Matt Gray begins his first major title run. The question on everyone's mind now is: Will the dream last?

q #6 - Death-Angel
Death-Angel won against Bobby Ocean, but sacrificed two points in the process. Due to the outstanding performances by Matt and Matthews, NLWF's behemoth finds himself one notch lower in the rankings.

q #7 - Corey Casey
Even Carver Ocean would have a tough time outshining Corey's poor performance at Trial By Combat. With Chuck's sister's life in the sway, Corey walked in with everything going his way...and still managed to lose. To add insult to injury, he felt the boot of Brenton Cyrus kicking him (literally) out of Salvation. Ouch.

q #8 - Shadow Demon
The Rated R Champion was missing in action at Trial By Combat. It's bad enough to miss a show, but it's always disappointing to miss a pay-per-view. Will Shadow be prepared to fight Apollos, the next in line for his belt?

p #9 - Ryan Apollos
Ryan won his own tournament. Normally, this might seem like a douche move, but with the competition we saw in the tournament, it's hard not to give the number nine slot to Apollos for a great week.

p #10 - TJ Tilli
Proof that one good week is all it takes to break the top ten. TJ Tilli proved to be very efficient in his match against Ryan Apollos. And although he lost, the performance was spectacular, and it earns him the rank of "Worst of the Best."

Wow, thanks Rick. Never thought I would make it up into the top 10, thanks for the accolade. Well done to Brenton, again. Jase, Chuck, Matt and my nemesis Ryan. Awesome!

Gratz, Tilli. Great job to everyone else who gained positions. You earned it. Literally.
